Symptoms of anxiety and depression often emerge in adolescence, creating new challenges for teens and parents. I use the strengths of adolescence- curiosity, humor, and a capacity for deep learning- to meet teens where they are and ensure that therapy feels like their space. Establishing a solid foundation allows me help young people feel truly connected to the change process and creates space for supportive, effective challenging when needed. Using a combination of CBT and talk therapy, I help teens understand and regulate their emotions and build tools for effective communication and healthy relationships. The ultimate goal is to leave teens with the skills and confidence to grow without the weight of overwhelming emotions or mental health symptoms.
